For stones of one carat and up we work with IGI, the International Gemological Institute, which grades more lab grown diamonds than any laboratory in the world. At this size the stone is the piece, and it should carry a report your jeweler, your insurer, and a buyer twenty years from now will recognize on sight. The IGI report ships with your piece.

Between half a carat and one, our stones are graded by an independent gemological laboratory in Jongno, the district where our pieces are made. Grading a few streets from the bench keeps the work close: a stone can be checked against its setting, questioned, and sent back before anything is soldered.
The certificate follows the GIA grading system across the 4Cs, with carat weight stated to the second decimal place and the full proportions of the stone recorded. It ships with your piece. The certificate documents the stone; the standard is ours, whichever laboratory's paper it carries.

Selected by hand
The trade grades stones individually from around half a carat. Below that, small diamonds are matched for color and clarity as a parcel and set to specification rather than reported on one by one. The small stones in our pieces are selected to our specification rather than certified on their own.
The line is the industry's, and we hold it where the industry does.
